Not everyone has the time or energy to follow an extensive skincare routine. Skincare doesn’t have to be all about that, either -- little changes to your routine can make a difference. Here are eight skincare hacks we think everyone should know about.
Keep your pillowcases clean
Apparently, pillowcases can be a hotbed of bacteria-causing acne. This makes sense, given the number of hours we spend in bed on a daily basis. Our pillows see lots of skincare products, oils from our hair and skin, and that can really add up!
Pillows should be washed or changed at least once a week. Depending on your skin type, you should be conscious of your laundry detergent. Try a fragrance-free detergent, if you have sensitive skin, and skip the fabric softener.

Don’t go to bed with makeup on

Wash your face

Washing your face before bed gives your skin a chance to breathe. Your skin needs to recover from the pollution it’s exposed to, on a daily basis. Taking the time to properly clean your skin will only aid the process.
Cleansing sounds like a small step, but it’ll do wonders to postpone premature ageing. Make it a habit, and remember to double-cleanse!
Massage your face
It doesn’t hurt to give your face a little massage after you’ve washed it. Massaging under your eyes is a quick, gentle way to de-puff them after a long night. A light massage on your face can increase circulation, giving you a healthy glow.
Plus, a quick massage also familiarizes you with your skin, so you’re aware of any problem areas that could need a little more TLC.
Remember to breathe

Don’t forget your SPF

It’s no surprise that what you eat affects your skin. Your skin needs nutrients, just like any other organ. There’s no need to completely overhaul your diet -- everything in moderation, after all.
Still, cutting down on the coffee, and replacing some snacks with fruits and vegetables are some great changes for healthier skin!
Wash your hands
We’ve extolled the benefits of washing your face, but what about your hands? Even if you’re not back at the office, your hands are covered in bacteria. This bacteria can transfer to your face in the blink of an eye -- especially if you’re a habitual face-toucher.
Washing your hands regularly can keep the bacteria (and other viruses!) at bay, so remember to do that, as often as possible!
